Windley Key State Park

Windley Key State Park opened in 1999.
It originally was bought in 1908 by Henry Flagler for the
Florida East Coast Railway.
It was a Quarry to cut Limestone to be used as fill for the Railroad.
The Quarry continued to be used into the 1960's
to cut Keystone which are slabbs of Limestone
showing the pretty Fossilized Corals.

There is a nice size parking area at the start of the trail. Here is a diagram of the trails so you can get an idea of what to expect.
I didnt have time to explore the entire area.
I did the main areas shown in Orange.

You are surrounded by a Florida Hardwood Hammock on both sides.

This is just some interesting sap oozing from a nearby tree.
You wonder how many years till it may become amber....

The path continues and you can see the Limestone Rock
coming out of the grounds between the trees.
