Leaf Footed Bug


Scientific Name: Leptoglossus phyllopus
Common Name: Leaf Footed Bug

Photographed in the Florida Everglades 11/4/2007

This species is distinguished by the white or pale yellow
crossbar on the corium.
They get the name "Leaf Footed Bug" from the
shape of their hind tibiae.
The main host plants are thistles but
these can be a pest in Orange groves also.
This one was found on a Solidago plant.
